Hello everyone! How are we all doing? I'm kind of recovering after my hectic week at work last week. I ended up almost doubling my hours after taking on lots of overtime. These photos were taken in the West End of Edinburgh which is absolutely gorgeous and totally picturesque. I live in South Edinburgh/Old Town so it's not an area I visit very often but when I do I love to have a wee wander around and soak up the atmosphere. What I'm wearing is pretty casual and I actually got called into work just before I took these photos. I didn't get the chance to change into my uniform before I went to work so it felt really weird to be going around work in my normal clothes and not my uniform! This shirt is from Joules and they sent it to me for the picnic post I did back in May. It took me a while to find a nice way to wear it as I'd normally wear a shirt with jeans and I didn't want to double denim a la Justin & Britney. I really like the way that it looks with a black skirt and I think I'll get a lot of wear out of it now.
I've been very busy recently. Pretty much working all the time, I took on a load of overtime last week so this week I really want to just chill out a bit and focus on my blog and getting everything sorted for Geneva. It's almost a week until we fly to Switzerland and I am very excited. We are only taking hand luggage so I will be sorting out what I'm packing next weekend. The weather seems to be much nicer there so I might go wild and get my legs out... I still need to order my money although I'm not really sure on how much to take. Everyone says that Switzerland is such an expensive country which is pretty worrying. We have a deposit to pay on the hostel so I'll be taking that and then I was thinking roughly £50 per day. For food and attractions and stuff. Surely that will be enough? I'd rather take more than necessary and convert it back when I come home rather than not take enough and be stuck.
I ordered myself a 50mm lens for my Nikon D3100 DSLR and I've justified it by staying that it will take really good photos of Geneva but in reality I'm very excited to try out blog photos with it. The 'zoomed in ness' of it is quite weird but I'm sure I will get used to it soon enough. So far I've just taken photos of flowers or of Batdog. They either come out amazing or really bad so I just need to adjust to it and then I'm sure my photos will be much much nicer. I'm also buying a macbook when I go back to uni so I really am splashing the cash on the tech at the moment. Oh well, I've not worked all this summer to not be able to buy things that I'd like. I'm still unsure on whether I should buy an Air or a Pro so if you are an apple user then leave me a wee comment letting me know which one you think is better!
Hope you all have a good week. I've got some really good posts planned for this week so excited for that!
