Blogger Interview: Sweet Serendipity

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to be trying something new and interviewing another blogger. I've read a lot of these posts over the years but never actually written one myself, so now its my turn. My first interviewee is Shannon from Sweet Serendipity, my large advertiser for December. Shannon is a fellow univeristy student, avid reader and lifestyle blogger. I'd tell you more but then what would be the point of the interview? Lets get started!

1. Tell us a little bit about your blog?

I’d definitely class my blog under the ‘lifestyle’ category. I pretty much write about anything that comes to mind but typically you will find posts about my everyday life, university, wishlists, book reviews and of course being a HUGE animal lover, my two cats Sadie and Jude and my old pony Rocky tend to feature quite heavily in the mix.

2. What else do you do apart from your blog? University, work, hobbies etc?

In and around blogging, I am actually studying an English Literature degree at the University of Reading – which is both exciting and terrifying at the same time! When I’m not at uni, I’m generally found at the local stables where Rocky is kept! Other than that, I tend to drink far too many cups of tea, have a slight obsession with scrapbooking and spend most of my spare time with my family as they mean the world to me.

3. Why did you start blogging?

I’ve always tried to keep a diary and it would always start out well but then I’d slowly give up again. One day I stumbled across a few blogs and spent a few months reading them before I built up the courage to start one of my own - it just made sense to combine my wishes to write a diary with my love for the internet and at the same time it gave me a way in to the huge community of bloggers that I was dying to be a part of!

4. What is your favourite ice cream flavour(we ask the important questions here)?

100% Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie!

5. Are you a dog person or a cat person?

Without a doubt a cat person, my theory is that if a cat didn't love you, it would just leave so if it stays then you know you’re loved by that cat!

6. Name your 3 favourite blogs?

This was really hard to narrow down as I read so many amazing blogs, but these are the three that I am constantly checking for new posts… Alphabeth (www.alphabeth.co.uk) , Charlotte’s Web (www.charlotteswebblog.co.uk) and Ellie’s Favourite Things (elliesfavouritethings.com)

7. What are your favourite books?

This is another hard question! I will have to go for A Room with a View by E.M.Forster and Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes. Both incredible books that you really need to read!

8. What is your favourite combination of pizza toppings(again on the imprortant questions)?

I’m not actually a huge fan of pizza, I generally just go for a margherita pizza with chicken on top. Boring, I know, but tasty!

9. Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

I’ve had a pony on loan for the past six years and from the age of 15 I paid for them entirely on my own. At one point I had my own pony, looked after another one and had three jobs alongside my GCSE’s, so I guess you can say that I am definitely determined and dedicated once I set my mind to what I want!

10. Give us a link to your favourite blog post that you've ever written!

I don’t know if I would say that this is my favourite post, but it is definitely one that I find myself constantly going back to and re-reading. It is from the day that I had to say goodbye to Rocky, my pony, before moving to university this year. It was the most difficult post that I’ve ever had to write but sometimes I like to read it again to remind myself of the good times that I had with Rocky before I had to say goodbye!

Thank you for some amazing answers Shannon. I hope you all enjoyed reading this post as hopefully this won't be my last blogger interview!
