Products I Regret Buying

Hello everyone, I don't want to sound like a complete and utter bitch but there are some products that I wish I hadn't wasted money on. Whilst I think that it's good to share the love about great products, I also think it's good to say things about stuff you don't like. I'm not trying to say that these are all horror products but I, personally, found they didn't work for me.

Avon Blackhead Clearing Daily Astringent - Or as I like to call it, burning face stuff. This is designed to be used like a toner but it's got so much alcohol in it that it burns my face. Also didn't find that it made any noticeable difference to my blackheads. This was pretty cheap so I guess I got what I paid for in the end.

Good Things Five Minute Facial Face Mask - I absolutely love Good Things' moisturiser so I picked this up thinking 'yay now I won't have to spend so much money on Lush masks because it will work for me'. Wrong. When I apply this is makes my face feel like it's almost burning, it just gets really hot and when I wash it off(it's also difficult to get off) my face is quite red and it hasn't made any improvements to my skin. It does smell amazing though.

Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Shine Control Day Moisturiser - I bought this at the start of the summer thinking it would be good for controlling oily skin. I found that you had to use loads to get any moisturising qualities from it, this tube is half empty and I only used it for about two weeks. It didn't mattify my face at all and I didn't find it to be as good as other moisturisers I have tried.

No7 Beautiful Brows Eyebrow Pencil in Brown/Black - This isn't a bad product but about a month or two after buying this I cut in a fringe and now you can no longer see my eyebrows. Now I only do anything to my eyebrows if I'm pinning my fringe back and I've found using a matte brown eye shadow gives a more natural finish.

GOSH Long Lasting Lip Marker in Berry - This was such a gorgeous colour but it applied so horribly. It wouldn't give an even finish and would gather at the corners of mouth. I found I could only wear it under a lipstick or lipgloss and then it dried out pretty quickly. I actually binned it straight after taking the photo.

Week In Photos #39

Cinders / Cute biscuits / Pancake day
Valentines day
Pasta / Strawberry and balsamic vinegar pizza / Illustration
Divergent / Failing to put rollers in / New perfume

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've done one of these posts but now I have lots of new things to tell you. I've gotten all of my prelim results back this week, I got an A in chemistry, human biology and phsyics and a B in English. I'm not going to lie I am a little bit gutted about the B, considering I was four marks off an A but I guess I'll just have to work on it and hopefully I'll improve before the final exam.

My mum's been on holiday this week so my gran has been staying with me and I've gotten to try out lots of fun recipes. You may have seen a strawberry and balsamic vinegar pizza in my last Things That Make Me Happy Post, well I tried it out and it was amazing!

You may have noticed that I have a lovely new sidebar image. The amazing Robyn from Robyn Makes Things drew the illustration for me and I'm absolutely in love with it. You really need to go check out her blog. I'm still working on turning it into a blog button and hopefully it should match something this week.

Eye Of The Tiger(Kitty)

Hello everyone! When I posted my 500 follower giveaway I asked people to comment saying what posts they'd like to see more of on my blog. And to my surprise a lot of people said outfit posts, so here I am. This is just a typical lazy day outfit. I'm sorry that you can't really see my jeans at all but they're just standard black jeans anyway so it's not as if you're missing out on some bangin' flares or anything.

Shirt - Market in Lanzarote
Cardigan - New Look
Jeans - Topshop
Earrings - New Look

February Wishlist

February Wishlist

Brushes / Bracelet : Topshop / Perfume / Shoes / Top : Topshop / Jeans : Topshop

Hello everyone, I've just realised it's been absolutely ages since I last done a wishlist. I can't tell if this is a good thing or a bad thing because people really like them but at the same time I guess it means I am becoming less materialistic. Anyway, from now on I'm going to try and make them a monthly thing.

1. Real Techniques Starter Set - I got the blush brush for Christmas and I absolutely love it. I really want to add to my collection as I don't have many 'proper' brushes and this set looks amazing. I also like that it comes with a case which would make them easy to store and travel with.

2. Topshop Embellished Bracelet - I used to be really well known for wearing lots of bracelets all at once, at one point I was wearing about 20 on each arm and now I hardly ever wear jewellery that's not earrings. I want to get back into it and I think this bracelet is really beautiful.

3. Marc Jacobs Dot Perfume - I love this perfume. I'm currently trying to use up my perfume collection to downsize it and I might reward myself with this one if I use up 3 or 4. And as per with Marc Jacobs perfumes the packaging is gorgeous.

4. Black Authentic Lo Pro Vans - Vans have became really popular lately and I can understand why. They'd look really cute with a pair of jeans and from what I've heard they are so comfy.

5. Topshop Embellished Cami - I'm trying to wear more colours, I find that I tend to stick to neutrals or black and I want to stop being so boring. I think this is so cute and would look amazing in the spring/summer.

6. Topshop Joni Super High Waisted Jeans - I didn't even know Topshop did super high waisted jeans but since I love my high waisted ones this seems to be the next sensible step. I don't have any light coloured denim jeans so I really want these.

Paloma Faith At The O2 Academy Glasgow

On the 28th of January I headed to Glasgow with my friend Amy and her mum, Alison, to see Paloma Faith. Amy and I had already seen her once at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange in 2010 and after hearing us go on about how amazing she was Alison wanted to come too so as soon as we saw she was returning to Scotland we snapped up some tickets. This was the third gig at the O2 Academy I've ever been too and I have to say it's my second favourite venue(the first being the Edinburgh Corn Exchange because it's closer). We arrived at 8 o'clock even though the doors opened at 7. Because we had already seen her we weren't that bothered about getting really close to the start. However, when  we arrived it a wasn't too crowded and we were able to get about five people away from the front.

Within minutes of us starting the support act started. There was only one support act which was nice, I do think people need the chance to get out there but at the end of the day it's not who I paid to see, and it was the lovely Josephine. I hadn't bothered to check out her music before the gig but now I am obsessed, her voice is absolutely amazing and her guitar skills were seriously epic(anyone who plays knows how hard it is to sing and play at the same time). It also has to be said that Amy thought her support guitarist had lovely cheek bones. You can listen to my favourite song, Portrait, here. She's doing a headline tour in April but her only Scotland show is over 18 only, so it'll be a while before I get the chance to see her again. But if you'd be interested in seeing her then check out the rest of the tour dates.

At 9 o'clock Paloma came on, and she doesn't leave any theatrics out. It started with a beautiful monologue played out, there were actually several played throughout the concert and they were very philosophical. She's well known for her eccentric dress sense and she didn't disappoint  a skin tight aqua dress with a slit thigh side and two massive jewelled bows. Complete with peacock feathers. She really puts her all into her performances, not only is her voice insane but she dances all over the stage and at one point was even dancing on top of the piano(I was so worried she'd fall).

As for songs she played mostly songs from her second album, Fall To Grace, but she did play a few golden oldies in the middle. She didn't do any covers which was a little disappointing as I loved her cover of Sexy Chick from when I seen her for the first time. When I seen her in 2010 the stage was very extravagant but this time it was more about the music. I really liked this and she said that the first album she released was what people had told her to do to get out there but the second album was what she wanted to do and I get the feeling it's the same way with her tours.

Overall, it was an amazing night and totally worth being very travel sick on the way home. If you ever get the chance to go see her your really should. Also the crowd was a good mix of ages so there wasn't that harassed pushy feeling you sometimes get at gigs where people seem to have no respect for others.

Things That Make Me Happy #18 Valentines Day Edition

Hello everyone, happy Valentines Day! I know a lot of people dislike Valentines Day but I love it so I decided to make this week's post love themed. I'm also going to be listing how to say I love you in different languages as this is part of my 101 Things In 1001 Days challenge.

1. Ich liebe dich. I met my boyfriend at guitar class so this is very appropriate, not too sure how well it would fare for actually playing guitar though.

Source

2.  Es tevi miilu. I don't drink tea, but this mug is so adorable.

Source

3. Ik hou van jou. Why have I never read anything from Oscar Wilde? This quote is beautiful.

Source

4. Wo ai nai. These cookies are almost too cute to eat. Emphasis on the almost.

Source

5. Kocham ciebe. This dress is so cute and adorable, why do Mod Cloth's pieces have to be so expensive?

Source

6. Ya tebya liubliu. I love these cards, they'd be so easy to make yourself.

Source

7. Aishiteru. I love this little ring, very cute.

Source

8. Eg elska tig. More cute cookies. I'd never get the icing that perfect if I tried to make my own though.

Source

9. Doset daram. HEART SHAPED PIZZA OK CALL THE NEWSPAPERS.

Source

10. Ya tabe kahayu. I don't drink coffee either but these cup covers are very cute.

American Candy Haul And Reviews

A couple of months ago I posted a photo of the Cadburys Oreo chocolate on tumblr and an American follower messaged me about it. We got chatting about things that we wanted to try and arranged to do a swap. We agreed on a budget of $10(which is about £6-7) and went shopping. My package arrived around mid December and I thought I'd post a review of all the lovely things I received now that I've had the chance to nibble through everything.

Trolli Sour Brite Octopuses - We ate these in my chemistry class and they were really good. Can't quite describe the flavour but they weren't too sour and they looked really cool.

Trolli Peachie O's - I took these into my Chemistry class to share(we do a lot of eating). We all really liked these although it's not the most natural peach flavour.

Trolli Sour Brite Eggs - I honestly really didn't like these all that much. I took them into school and we ate them in my Chemistry class, only a few people actually liked them. They were kind of like jelly beans that had the texture of gummy worms.

Pretzel M&Ms - These were really, really tasty. I think they were probably my favourites out of everything I tried and I loved the sweet and savoury combo.

Candy Corn White Chocolate M&Ms - I didn't like these but that's probably because I'm not a massive fan of white chocolate. Not wanting them do go to waste I gave them to my sister who really liked them.

Peanut Butter M&Ms - I'm not a massive fan of nuts but I did actually really liked these. I shared them with my mum and she really likes peanut butter, she said these are better than the peanut ones we have over here.

Coconut M&Ms - I really liked these. They had the taste of a Bounty bar in the form of an M&M. One of my favourites from the lot.

Jolly Rancher Fruit Chews -  These have the consistency of Hubba Bubba bubble gum but you can actually swallow them. I really liked these, the cherry flavour was my favourite out of the four flavours. I do have the say that the watermelon ones did taste a little too artificial which was a shame.

Snickers - I wasn't a massive fan of this as I don't really like nuts but from what I can tell it was the same as the UK Snickers.

Watermelon Pop Rocks - Like pretty much all popping candies this was really fun to eat. Tasted quite nice as well.

Sour Patch Kids - These are basically little sugar coated jellies shaped like kids. They're supposed to be sour but I didn't think they were that sour, apart from the yellow ones. My favourites were the red and green.

Starburst - Starburst are available in the UK but the American ones are so much better. The flavours are strawberry, cherry, orange and lemon. Remember when UK Starburst used to contain a load of junk but the strawberry ones tasted amazing? The American ones still taste like that.

Strawberry Pop Rocks - Who doesn't love popping candy? The strawberry flavour is really nice but I think there was too much in a packet to eat all at once.

Tropical Pop Rocks - My sister had these and she said they were very nice but didn't taste particularly like 'tropical punch' just fruity in general.

Week In Photos #38

Snow / Pretty chocolate / Domino's / Valentines day coupons / TFIOS Live / Delilah Dust Necklace

This week has been pretty darn amazing. I had my chemistry prelim on Tuesday and my physics prelim on Wednesday, I think they went quite well. I'm quite nervous to go back to school and get my results back for everything but I am fairly confident. I had Thursday and Friday off because study leave was on so I got the chance to just chill out and relax. If you follow me on twitter then you'll know that I've been mega craving a Domino's all week. On Thursday I finally did it. Chicken and pineapple on sun dried tomato and garlic sauce with a side of garlic bread. Amazing.

On Friday night I went to see John and Hank Green at TFIOS Live. It was absolutely amazing! We were fourth row, Hank took a song request from me and we got to meet them at the signing. I don't want to go into too much detail because I'm planning to do a full blog post on it but it was one of the best nights of my life. I went with Stuart, my friend Elen and her friend Niall. I haven't seen Elen since before Christmas so I got my birthday and Christmas presents from her. She bought me the lovely infinity necklace from Delilah Dust and earrings from Annarack. They're so nice!

January Empties

Boots Skin Clear Cleansing Wipes - These were some pretty good face wipes, they removed my eye make up pretty well. I only really use wipes to take my eye make up off and then I cleanse with a proper cleanser so I can't exactly rave about them but I'd use them again.

Dr Jart+ Premium BB Cream - Even though it's designed for older skin, I love this bb cream! When I first removed it from the sachet I thought it was going to be far too dark for my skin but in reality it's not. It blends into my skin so well that I've forgotten I was wearing it!

Sure Maximum Protection Deodorant - I really can't rave about this enough. It's quite expensive at £5.30 but if you're concious about sweating or getting sweat patches then you really need to get this. It completely stops you from sweating and it smells really nice. Even though it's more pricey than a normal deodorant it lasts absolutely ages.

Lush Melting Snowman - I have given this a full review which you can read here.

Lush Caca Rouge Henna - I have given this a full review which you can read here. This time I left it on for a few hours and it was a lot stronger in colour.

The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel - My sister got me this mini shower gel for Christmas and I loved it. It's the perfect wintery/Christmas scent and I'm sad it's gone.

Johnsons Eye Make Up Remover - This is a really great eye make up remover, the eyeliner I use needs an oil based make up remover or it won't come off(it's seriously heavy duty, I can go to sleep in it and wake up with it perfect) and this does the trick. It also doesn't leave my face feeling greasy.

The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter - They were handing out free samples of this in the store last time I was there and I have fallen in love with this. It smells amazing and left me feeling very smooth.

17 Peep Show Mascara - I hated this, it was clumpy and horrid. It's not empty but I'm throwing it out anyway.

Lush Let The Good Times Roll Sample - Smelt amazing, burnt my face.
