Week In Photos #26 and 7 Things In 7 Days

Finished my crocheted blanket / Won a giveaway / Got a new phone cover / And a new CD
Had my hair trimmed and thinned / My favourite spider survived the window cleaner / My mum packed me lunch for work :') / Pimped my pen pal letters

Hello everyone! It's another instagram update post. This week's been pretty busy but very enjoyable. I finally got Jill Jackson's new CD(well it was release in May but y'know)! She's my absolute favourite so I've been listening to it non stop! I also got a new phone case(getting a bit addicted to Amazon here), how cute are the little owls?!

And another funny story from work, a guy phoned up the shop and asked if we have any World Of Warcraft fish tank backgrounds. Just think about that for a minute.

I decided to add a new feature onto my update posts, you may have seen the 7 Things For 7 Days posts started by Sprinkle Of Glitter on another few blogs and I thought I'd share my goals for the week with you:

Pass the physics test- I have a physics test tomorrow and because I'm crashing higher physics I want to pass every test(preferably with a really good mark) to prove to everyone who told me that I'd fail that they're wrong.

Start packing- I'm going to Lanzarote on the 12th of October and I want to be more or less packed by the middle of next week so I'm not totally stressing out the night before.

Find someone to write a guest post for me for the 13th of October- Any takers?

Write all the blog posts for this week and next week- I have a few photos sitting in my documents library that need to have corresponding blog posts written about them.

Decide what aftershave to get Stuart for part of his birthday present- I'm getting him one from The Body Shop, do you have a favourite from there?

Get an envelope for my giveaway prize- I want to have the prize all packed and ready so that when I get home from holiday I can just write a letter to whoever won and sent it to them asap.

Have a date with Stuart- We never really go out a lot as a couple so I'd like to go on a date this week, probably going to drag him to see The Perks Of Being A Wallflower.

Guest Post: Why Polka Dots Rock

Hey everyone, don't mind me, I'm stealing a bit of internetz from the lovely Hayley today to talk about polka-dots, super indulgent stuff!  She's super sweet, when she asked me if I could do a guest blog I couldn't say no :)

If you've ever seen my blog/twitter/youtube account, you'll know I love polka dots!  I have a lot of polka stuff and like it for a lot of reasons :)  A little bit about me, I'm a makeup & lifestyle blogger, I've been blogging since January (2012) over at Makeup-Pixi3 - I have a penchant for cats, quorn, sushi, and all things shiny and sparkly :)  So, here's why I love polka dots :)

It's Different
One of the things I love about polka-dots is that it's different.  It's both feminine without being overly girly, they're awesome in so many different colours, and they fit with a really classic look.  A look which as I'm getting older I'm getting more drawn too.  Back in the day, I was what people called 'a mosher', which meant I wore seriously baggy jeans, had a few piercings and loved heavy metal.  I still love heavy metal (although my musical taste has broadened a lot), but I don't wear 'baggies' any more, and sadly, all the piercings are gone :(

Polka-dots have been around, forever!  They used to be typically found on dresses of flamenco dancers, and if you cast your mind back to pop art and the likes of Lichtenstein he cleverly used them to create works of art in a modern pointillist way :)  All funky stuff.  But now adays, it's adopted a lot by pseudo goth's opting for that 40's retro goth look.  A trimmed sharp fringe, with either black or red hair, often red lips and drawn on eye brows, teemed with 40s style clothes - it's a nice look, not one I could pull off, but I'm definitely feeling the 40s classic style, or is that more the Hepburn look?  I do love a nice red lip, giant Chanel sunglasses and a polka top - it's a classic that'll never die, and what's more, it can be pulled off by most ages.

My Collection
So I have a few polka things in my life, it's still not enough, if I had it my way there'd be a load more!  I've built up a nice collection of polka mugs, which I really love - probably mostly because I collect mugs.  I have a couple of polka dot tops, and my cat has a polka food bowl, which I seriously love :)

Uses
I love it as blogging backgrounds too - everyone has it in different colours to make it personal to them, my colour?  is teal - my usual favs would be black and purple, but I've moved on from that now.  I love love love it on mugs, on plates, on tea light holders, well, hell, everywhere!

Thanks for reading this, hope I didn't bore you too much?  :)  And thanks to Hayley for letting me do this too :)

Book Review: The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Hello everyone! I have a book review for you all today, I know it's been absolutely ages since I posted about books on my blog. I used to do 'recently read' posts but then I never done one for ages and the amount of books just piled up and I didn't want to do a post with about 20+ books on it. I do have some very exciting news for you book lovers though. I'm going to be writing book reviews for a book blog called The Bloggers Library along with a few other bloggers! I'm really looking forward to it. So if you're interested in reading more book reviews go and follow that!

Now onto the book, a few of you may know that The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is my all time favourite book. It's been made into a movie which is due to be released on Wednesday so I thought now would be the perfect time to review it so that I can convince you all to read the book first!

The book is set out in the form of letters written to a stranger boy a teenage by called Charlie. It's not stated in the book but Charlie has asperberger's(a form of autism) and uses this as an outlet. He talks about how he is getting on at high school and about his life. The way it's written is beautiful. I can read this book in a night, it's one of those books you just can't put down! I don't want to spoil anything for you so I'm not going to go into the details but I really really recommend it. Go read it now! And do not, on any circumstance, go to see the film without having read the book first! I've seen the trailer and I'm still not sure what I think about it, it looks like it's going to be a generic teenage movie which is very dissappointing! It's also worth noting that this  is the only book that's ever made me cry.

Week In Photos #25

Scarf / Matching nails and body butter / Vibrator ad in Company / Ghost Knife Fish
Party / Party / Turtle at work / Finally got work shirts
Became an organ donor / My sister turned 11 / My face / Repeated photo

Hello everyone :) It feels like it's been ages since I done a week in photos post but it's actually only been two weeks! Sorry about not posting one last weekend but I was at my gran's house all weekend and she doesn't have the internet.

I've had a pretty busy week. I was at a party last Sunday night and had Monday and Tuesday off school. I was really sick on Tuesday night(over 10 times) so I actually had Wednesday off too but it wasn't a very enjoyable day. Thursday was my little sister's birthday, happy birthday Abbey! On Friday I went on a trip to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to tour their labs and find out more about a career in biomedical science.

10 Day You Challenge: 1 Picture

Hello everyone, I'm so sad to be writing up the last post of this challenge! I've really enjoyed writing these posts and I hope you've all enjoyed reading them. So here we are at the grand finale... my face.

There you go, that's what my face looks like. I took this photo on Tuesday so it's the most up to date photo of me I have.

10 Day Challenge: 2 Songs

2 Songs

1. Sunbeams and Custard Creams by Jill Jackson. This is my happy song. I absolutely love Jill Jackson and her music is just so amazing. She really doesn't get the credit she deserves and isn't as popular as she should be. The lyrics to this song are so cute, I want Jill to be my girlfriend! Might ask her to marry me if I ever get the privilege to meet her in real life. I can also play this on guitar and it's pretty easy to play.

2. Thank You For The venom by My Chemical Romance. My Chem are my all time favourite band and have been since I was in primary school. I'd have to say this is my favourite song that they've done. One of those ones you can put on, sing word perfect and dance around to.

10 Day You Challenge: 3 Films

Hello everyone :) Can't believe this challenge is nearly over! I've really enjoyed writing these posts and I hope you've all enjoyed reading them.

3 Films

1. Salt. This is my all time favourite action film. It's about a Russian double agent living in America. It stars Angelina Jolie and I really like her acting. There's also a really great plot twist in this.

2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. This is the only film that's ever made me cry! I love all of the Harry Potter films but there's just some amazing acting in this, especially from Alan Rickman. If you haven't watched all the Harry Potter films then you are seriously missing out!

3. 500 Days Of Summer. I'll admit this right now, I hate, hate, hate rom coms. They just bug me and I always find that the the characters are so fake and the story lines are always really bad. However, I really enjoyed this. It stars Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, I can't decide who I fancy most! The story line isn't what you expect it to be and it's really funny.

Work FOTD

Hello everyone, I thought I'd share with you my usual 'work face'. I work in an aquatic pet shop and it can get really warm in the fish room considering there's over 100 fish tanks all with heaters! So I normally go really natural with face make up and a bit heavier on the eyes.

Products Used:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Sleek Storm Palette
No7 Amazing Eyes Eye-liner
Avon Little red Dress Mascara
No7 Blusher in Soft Damson
Vaseline Rosy Lips

10 Day You Challenge: 4 Books

Hello everyone! I was absolutely dreading this post, how am I only supposed to pick four?! Wish I could swap it so it was 10 books instead of 10 secrets!

4 Books

1. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. This is my all time favourite book. I think this opened my eyes to a lot of things and changed the way that I see things/people. There are some great quotes in this novel and it's beautifully written. It's been made into a movie which is due to come out this year and I'm not sure if I'm going to love it or hate it, I've seen the trailer and really didn't like that.

2. Paper Towns by John Green. This was the second book by John Green that I ever read and it's my favourite out of all of his novels. I really loved the story line in this novel and I love the way that John Green writes. I also feel that since finding his novels I feel a part of the nerdfighter community and absolutely love watching the vlogbrothers on Youtube. It's great to really get to know the author.

3. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. This book is so so beautiful. It follows the story of two women living in Afghanistan and I just couldn't put it down. One of the very few books that has made me cry. Amazing.

4. The Color Purple by Alice Walker. I wasn't really expecting to like this book but it actually turned out to be one of my favourites. You follow the story of a black woman in segregated America and it's very very emotional. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.

10 Day You Challenge: 5 Foods

Five Foods

1. Nectarines. I love a good nectarine. When they're just ripe enough to be juicy but not overripe so that the juice goes everywhere. Delicious. They have a similar taste to a peach without the annoying fuzz on the skin. Perfect.

2. Chicken stir fry was the first 'proper' meal that I learnt to cook by myself when I was about 12. Still one of my favourite things to cook because it's quick, easy and I love love love Asian food.

3. Dark chocolate. Dark is my favourite type of chocolate. I know it's not the most popular type but that's fine, more for me! I think it tastes so much smoother and nicer than milk or white chocolate and certainly makes a difference in baking.

4. Leek and potato soup. My mum used to make this for lunch every Friday and it's my all time favourite soup. I make it every Friday and take it to work with me on Saturdays, my co-workers all love it too!

5. Chinese take-out. Chinese is my favourite type of take-out, I've yet to find something I really dislike.

10 Day You Challenge: 6 Places

Hello everyone, it's me again! Hopefully you're finding these posts interesting and I'm not boring you all to death!

1. Moscow. I don't know why but I've always had a really odd fascination with Russia. I've always, always, always wanted to go there. I am so interested in the history and the language is beautiful. Also acording to my stats page about 20% of my readers are actually Russian, if you are one of those Russian readers say hello and help me out with my Russian!

2. The Isle of Arran. Arran is an island off the west coast of Scotland and I've been visiting there since I was a child. My grandparents used to take me and my cousin there when we were kids and eventually the whole family started to come along. When my granddad died we scattered his ashes in Blackwaterfoot so it's a place I hold close to my heart.

3. Edinburgh. Edinburgh is my favourite place to be. I live about a 20 minute train journey from Edinburgh so it's the perfect little escape from the boring suburbs. The architecture is so beautiful in Edinburgh and the shops are so much better! The atmosphere there during the festival season is also amazing.

4. Yosemite. Yosemite has to be one of the most beautiful places ever. The scenery looks amazing and I know it will be 10 times better in real life. You have to camp there and I'm not much of a camping person so visiting could get pretty interesting, I've heard stories about people seeing bears!

5. London, considering I live in the UK it's pretty impressive that I've never been there. My mum went when she was at school and didn't like it and therefore refuses to take me. It's the place I want to go for my first 'friends holiday'. I'd love to see all the cool shops you London bloggers are always going on about and visit all the really cool museums.

6. My bed! I really love waking up about 10-15 minutes before my alarm goes off and just spending the time all nice and warm, snuggled up under the covers knowing that I don't have to get up just yet.

Have you visited any of these places?

10 Day You Challenge: 7 Wants

Hello everyone, what are you thinking of my 10 Day Challenge so far?

7 Wants

1.  I want a phd. Not specifically in medicine but I want to find something I'm so passionate about that I'm willing to put so much time into studying it.

2. I want to visit as many capital cities as I can. First on my list are Moscow, Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam. Whenever I go on holiday with my parents we always go to tourist-pool-type places and to be honest I don't really enjoy it. I want to travel and see culture!

3. I want to be successful in life. It sounds so stereotypical but I want to be able to look back on my life and think 'yeah Hayley, you did good.'. Really I just want to make amazing memories with amazing people as often as I can.

4. I want to work less hours and get paid more money for it! Not very realistic but you know, a girl can dream.

5. I want to really ace my exams this year. I know that if I procrastinate and  don't study then I'll only end up regretting it when I don't have the grades I wanted. I plan to really knuckle down, study hard and hopefully reap the benefits of it.

6. I want to get crafty more. Crafting was something I was really into as a child but I haven't really gotten crafty in a while due to being busy/not having the right supplies. Recently I learnt to crochet and I'd love to get a lot better at it and create really cool things like hats instead of just squares.

7. It would be really, really cool if the school COULD PUT SOAP IN THE GIRL'S BATHROOM PLEASE!

10 Day You Challenge: 8 Fears

Hello again, third post of the challenge coming right up!

8 Fears

1. I'm really really scared that I'm not going to get into university. I'm not 100% sure what I want to study yet but I've wanted to go to university ever since I was in primary school so it would be a massive let down not to. I know I'm capable of getting the grades but I am very good at doubting myself when under stress.

2. Ice, I went into this more in the 10 Secrets post but I'm really scared of ice. Basically I slipped once and gave myself mild concussion so I really don't like walking around when it's icy. Which considering I spend about an hour walking to and from school everyday is something I do have to do a lot.

3. Birds. When I was younger I was watching an episode of Casualty where a man had his scalp ripped off by a seagull. As a result of this episode I now have an irrational fear of birds. This proves that nothing good ever comes from watching Casualty. Ever.

4. I'm really scared that people from school will make fun of me because of my blog. I've always been a bit weird and a bit too smart which in my earlier years of high school made me a target for bullying. Whilst people no longer say nasty things to me now nobody really says much to me at all and I can imagine people having a field day if they found out about it.

5. I'm really scared that I'm going to not get the grades I want this year at school. I got top grades in last years exams but it's only September and I'm already starting to feel the strain of highers. They're definitely a big jump from standard grades and I know that I'm going to have to put a lot more effort in this year.

6. I fear the oblivion after death. I am in no way religious and cannot convince myself that there is some form of life after death. Whilst this is good motivation to make my life as awesome as I can it's also pretty darn scary.

7. The fact that the sun will reach a size where it engulfs the earth. That is not nice to think about.

8. I'm scared that one of the turtles at work is going to bite me! This one sounds a bit crap but I couldn't really think of anything else.

Note: I won't have internet connection from Friday to Monday so will be unable to reply to comments etc. until Monday evening.

10 Day You Challenge: 9 Loves

Hello everyone! Second day of the ten day you challenge! Did you enjoy yesterday's post?

9 Loves

1. My mum. I know it's the typical thing to say but she's really important to me. When I was 10 my dad moved to England so she's been both my mum and my dad for a long time. She's absolutely great. She's always there and is super supportive with everything I do. She also makes great rhubarb crumble!

2. Science. This year at school I'm studying English, maths, physics, human biology and chemistry and so far I'm really enjoying it. I just find science so fascinating and cool. I really hope I can get into a science based career.

3. NCIS and Greys Anatomy. They're my all time favourite shows. I've seen every episode and have all the NCIS box sets. It's gotten to the point where the characters all feel like my friends and I grin like an idiot at the little things they do.

4. Reading. For as long as I can remember I've always had my nose in a book. I find reading is the perfect way for me to unwind and I love loosing myself in a good book. Some of my favourites are The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, Paper Towns, The Catcher In The Rye and The Hunger Games.

5. Winged liquid liner. I honestly can't remember when I started winging my eye liner but I've been doing it for years now. I just think it's very classic and elegant and suits my face well.

6. My boyfriend. Blah blah blah lovey dovey crap. But yeah Stuart's lovely.

7. The feeling of getting into a hot shower when you're really cold. This is one of life's cheapest luxuries. Literally the best thing about winter(apart from drinking hot chocolate by a window during a snow storm).

8. Lists. I love to make lists. To do lists. To blog lists. To read lists. 9 things I love lists.

9. Blogging. I've been blogging for about 9 months now and I've really enjoyed it. I've gotten to speak to lots of lovely girls and have made some really nice online friends. I'd love to go to a huge bloggers meet up! It has the be in Edinburgh though ok?

Superdrug Sugar and Spice Self-Heating Mask Review

As a few of you many have noticed I'm nearing 300 followers and I've decided that when I reach that milestone I'm going to host a give away. I decided to check out a few sachet masks as I thought that they'd be a good prize as A) Everyone loves a good face mask and B) They won't raise the postage cost too much allowing me to spend more on the prize than on the shipping. I picked up two from Superdrug and I wanted to try them out before deciding whether I would be sending them out or not. The first one I tried was the Sugar and Spice Self-Heating Mask.

This mask really stood out to me because I've never heard of anything like it before, I'm also a huge fan of spicy smells. I know that skincare is subjective to everyone but I honestly feel like pouring acid on my face would have been a better use of my time! When I first put on this mask I had no problems with it. It smelt amazing and I could feel it heating up straight away. I literally felt and looked like I was spreading warm, gooey caramel all over my face. The consistency was quite runny but this was solved by an innovative face wipe napkin to catch any drips. So far so good.

However, after about 5 minutes I got a really strong burning sensation concentrated on my cheeks and nose. The instructions say to leave this on for 10-15 minutes but I had to take it off before this because it was really hurting me. The burning sensation remained a while after I had taken this off. I was quite surprised by this as I don't have sensitive skin!

The only plus I can see to this product is that is is BUAV approved and suitable for vegans as are all of the other Superdrug masks. It cost 99p from Superdrug and I definitely don't recommend it.

10 Day You Challenge: 10 Secrets

Hello everyone! I've seen other bloggers doing this challenge and I really enjoy reading the posts. I think being able to tell what a blogger is like really improves the reading experience. Sometimes I don't think that I portray my personality enough over my blog so I though this would be a great way for your all to get to know me.

10 Secrets

1. I have a really bad fear of ice, about two years ago I fell near the back gate of my school and gave myself some mild concussion. Now the back gate of my school is generally where the smokers hang out so it was really great fun having 12 year old smokers laugh at me whilst I bled and cried. I love winter but I'm dreading having to walk on ice again, I actually started crying walking to school last year because I was so scared.

2. Most people don't know about my blog. I mean I have it linked on my twitter and everything but only a handful of friends have mentioned it to me and none of my family know. I guess I just feel like a lot of people would think it's really shallow.

3. I've been boycotting Nestle for nearly four years now because I don't agree with their ethics. You can Google this for more information if you want. Sometimes I hate admitting this to people, especially people's parents as they always kick up a huge fuss about it.

4. ^Ditto KFC.

5. I think I have food related anxiety. I hate hate hate eating at other people's house or going to a restaurant  if I haven't seen the menu first. It's probably because I'm a really picky eater. I had been out with my boyfriend for 5 months before I first had dinner at  my boyfriend's house, it's that bad!

6. I'm really, really scared that I won't get into uni. No one in my family has ever gone before and I really want to be the first one to go. I'm not 100% sure what I want to do so I'm also kind of scared that I'll make a bad decision and end up on a course I hate.

7. My boyfriend's not very romantic and sometimes I listen to love songs and pretend that the person is singing to me. Keeps me from being in a mood with him.

8. I got my ass kicked in primary school once. Last time I ever followed my mum's advice. Since when did 'tell her to leave you alone' ever work for anyone?

9. I like to make up little scenarios in my head where I am so much cooler than I am in real life. For example, Russian secret agent, pro ice skater and Harry Potter's long lost sister.

10. I was expecting to get 6 1s a 2 and an A for my standard grades. I actually got 7 1s and and A which is great but I actually would have been reaaaaallly disappointed with a 2.

Are you doing this challenge?

Lush Amandopondo Bubble Bar Review

Amandopondo is a strong rose scented bubble bar that creates a really relaxing atmosphere. Lush say that this also smells of lemon, however, I didn't smell any but the smell was lovely all the same. This created quite a lot of bubbles(what you can see below is only half a bar!) and crumbled really easily into the water, sometimes I feel bubble bars don't break up enough. The rose smell wasn't too overpowering like some Lush products can be, instead it was very light yet just 'smelly' enough. I used this bubble bar after a long shift at work and it really helped me unwind. It has a lovely little rose in the middle of it but I took this out because I don't like floaty bits in my bath but I'm sure this would be a big plus for some people.

Overall, I wouldn't say this is one of Lush's most exciting bubble bars but it is one of the most relaxing and would be perfect for people that like bubble baths but find most Lush products to be too overpowering. I really enjoyed using this but I don't think I'll be repurchasing it any time soon simply because there are so many other bubble bars and bath bombs I want to try. Looking forward to using the other half of this though.

Week In Photos #24

Nails / The Hunger Games / My grandparents in the paper
Guitar class / Smoothie / Fishies
Instahaul / My friend left her Wreck This Journal at my house... / Work break

Hello everyone, can't believe another week has gone by so quickly. I've been back at school for three weeks now, although it feels like a lot longer. On the plus side I had Friday off as it was an in-service day for my area so teachers can sort out the whole curriculum for excellence hooha(techincal terms). It was the first day off I've had since going back to school as I've been working Saturdays and Sundays so it was really nice, I got to go SHOPPING!

Last night after work a few of my friends came over for a movie night. We ordered Chinese food and watched The Cabin In The Woods, which was actually pretty darn scary. I was expecting it to be a really crap film but at points I ended up covering my ears and eyes!

What have you been up to this week?

BooHoo Bloggers Challenge

BooHoo Bloggers Challenge

I was recently contacted by Fashion Vouchers about their BooHoo bloggers challenge. The idea is that you design an outfit with clothes from BooHoo and blog about it. The catch? You only have £50 to make your outfit up with, this is actually a lot harder than it sounds. There are four £50 gift vouchers to be won and I really hope I win one!
This is a very simple 'oriental' themed outfit. I absolutely love the dress, it looks so elegant and it's only £15. Bargain! Also a major fan of the shoes, I've seen lots of variations of the suede loafers in places like Topshop and New Look but they never fit my feet right(hello size 8 monster feet), hopefully these beauties would fit.

August Empties

Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner is one of the best hair care products that I've ever used. I'm so gutted that this is empty and I really need to get round to buying another. I used this about 1-2 times a week instead of a normal conditioner and it made my hair so soft and smooth. The smell of this reminds me  of a sweet my friends and I used to buy from the local corner shop, I think they were called Zappers?  A sweet, zingy mint smell. Delicious. I'll definitely be repurchasing.

Beauty Formula's Nose Pore Strips have been a staple in my skincare routine since I started high school. I've tried a variety of nose strips but personally I find that the best ones are the cheapest. Whilst they probably aren't the best for your skin, the blackheads removed:number of strips ratio is a lot better.  These cost about £1.99 and I get them from Bodycare but you might be able to find them in another similar shop. I will certainly be repurchasing.

The Body Shop's Earth Lovers Rosemary and Fig Shower Gel was actually a present for my birthday, in January. I kind of put off using this because it was a really runny consistency and I wasn't sure how good it would actually be. I'm glad I got around to using it because it was a great product. A little went a long way with this and it lathered up really well. This product had a really nice refreshing scent as well that helped wake me up in  the morning.

Good Things Cleansing Wipes smell absolutely amazing. However I found that the texture of these was a bit weird and they weren't actually that good for removing eye make up, especially mascara. I found that the next morning I had to go around my eyes with make up remover to get the final traces of mascara off which was really annoying. I won't be repurchasing, they're expensive too.

Lush's Charity Pot is something I really want to buy full size after using this 10g trial tin. This body lotion smells like Turkish delight and leaves your skin feeling amazing. This packaging wasn't the best though, it leaked out the sides when you put the lid on and one time it got stuck so badly I had to get my stepdad to open it with pliers. Can't wait to buy the full size in a black tub though!

Lush's Curly Wurly Shampoo was the first hair product I've ever tried from Lush. This made my hair less curly that it is normally. Safe to say I wasn't very impressed! The only plus side was that it smelt really nice. I won't be buying the full size, so glad I got a sample.

Lush's Catastrophe Cosmetic Face Mask is a cult favourite amongst bloggers. However I wasn't really feeling it. I didn't dislike it but it didn't wow me like Cupcake or Love Lettuce did. I won't be buying a full sized one.

Lush's Think Pink Bath Bomb is a product I've already reviewed. You can read my review here but long story short I won't be repurchasing.

Naked's Bare Faced Cheek Face Wash was something I got as a Christmas present and it's taken me this long to finish it. Originally I quite liked this but after a while I got pretty bored of it. I kept this in the shower and the packaging let in water and really diluted this so I don't think I got the full benefits of this. Kind of my own fault really but I won't be repurchasing.

DKYNY's Delicious Night Body Lotion came in a set with the matching perfume. Honestly now I'm not a massive fan of the scent so I've been trying to use this and the perfume up. I'm only about halfway through the perfume but I managed to use all of this. Good lotion, not my favourite scent. Won't be repurchasing but I'm pretty sure you can't buy it on it's own anyway.

Week In Photos #23

Pretty sky / My work got published / Drawing from my pen pal
Home made soup and croutons / My man / Waterstones order

This week's been pretty boring, it's gotten to that point where you've been back at school long enough for the 'back to school excitement' to have worn off and the early mornings feel like hell. I also got caught in ridiculously heavy rain on Wednesday at lunch time, it was so heavy that no one could hear my 5th period teacher over the noise it was making off the windows!

One of the highlights of the week was seeing an essay I wrote last year published in a local writer's magazine!  My family were all pretty proud. My favourite part was what my 10 year old sister had to say about it.
"I can't be bothered reading all of it but the first paragraph is alright."

I'm also really happy that it's soup weather time again! I absolutely love soup, I'm a pretty picky eater when it comes to vegetables so soups are good for me to squeeze in my 5 a day. This week I made leek and potato soup which is my all time favourite. I also took some to work for me and my supervisor(I've never met anyone that eats as much as he does) and he loved it. I also sold my first tank yesterday, yay!

Guest Post: One Dress, Four Styles

Hi everyone, I’m Millie from prettylittleenvies.blogspot.com (incase ya want to check out my blog) and Hayley has been kind enough to let me guest post on her blog, soooo I thought I’d talk a bit about the best thing known to man right now: the LRD (Little Retro Dress) which you can get preeetty much anywhere, but I got mine from Forever 21 (pictured below).

There are a bajillion and one ways to style it so I thought I’d show you a few of my faves!

I decided to contrast the peachyness of the dress with an electric blue because they’re both colours associated with the swingin' 60’s and the quirkiness really POPS! (Very sorry about the condition of my shoes, it seems I walked through the straps at a party. Impossible? Believe me, it’s not.)

It’s always so awkward choosing what to wear for something that’s meant to be smart/casual so my advice is to always go more towards casual. I pick a lovely dress like my LRD and dress it down by layering a slouchy t-shirt or tying a shirt over it.

Here I simply threw on a lace top for a more elegant look. I’m not sure what it is that just makes the outfit, maybe it’s the unusual colour of the lace top or that they’re usually worn non-layered for a slutty look and here it’s a bit of a shock to see it look so different and classy, y’know?

This outfit is pretty much the same as the smart/casual one except I chucked on some converse to add to the grunge which contrasts the gorgeous girlyness of my LRD. Is it weird that I’m a little bit in love with oversized sunnies? Yeah probably, but you couldn’t pay me to give them up!
I hope you all liked my guest post and if you get a chance I would be soooo grateful if you could check out my blog! (prettylittleenvies.blogspot.com)
